Kohlrabi - Organic British
£2.20 (each)
A bulb-shaped vegetable with a crisp, crunchy texture, kohlrabi is part of the cabbage family. The name translates from German as 'turnip cabbage' and the mild, sweet flavour is somewhere between a turnip and a water chestnut, with a crisp, crunchy texture.
Use in a coleslaw, dice and roast, steam or stir fry.
Local organically (biodynamically, in fact) grown kohl rabis from Sheffield Organic Growers just outside Sheffield.
As fresh as you can get without growing your own.
